In June, the assessments of the activities of the main state institutions did not change, the majority approve. The share of positive assessments of the situation in the country is also growing. The most positive sentiments are demonstrated by representatives of the oldest age group, more affluent citizens, Muscovites and TV viewers. The level of trust in V. Putin, M. Mishustin, A. Belousov is growing, Sergey Lavrov and Sergei Shoigu are decreasing.
The majority of Russians (75%) believe that things are going in the right direction in the country, in June 2024 this indicator repeated its maximum values, which were reached in February this year. 17% of respondents are of the opinion that the country is moving along the wrong path, another 9% found it difficult to answer.
Men (77%), respondents aged 55 and over (79%), respondents who can afford durable goods (77%), Muscovites (83%), TV viewers (86%) and respondents who approve most often believe that things in the country are going in the right direction Activity V. Putin (84%).
Respondents aged 18-24 (21%), respondents who barely have enough for food (21%), villagers (20%), respondents who trust information from YouTube channels (28%), and respondents who disapprove of the activity of V. Putin (79%) said that the country is moving on the wrong path.
Activity of V. Putin as president is positively assessed by the majority of Russians – 87%, this high figure has been maintained over the past months. 11% of respondents disapprove of his activities.
Putin as president is primarily approved of by women (88%), respondents 55 years and older (89%), respondents who have enough for clothes and durable goods (88% each), Muscovites (90%), TV viewers (90%), respondents who believe that things are the country is moving in the right direction (98%).
Men (14%), respondents under the age of 24 (14%), respondents who barely have enough for food (17%), respondents who trust information from YouTube channels (20%), respondents who believe that the country is moving on the wrong path (51%) disapprove of V. Putin as president.
In recent months, the level of approval of the Prime Minister’s activities has continued to grow – 75% in June 2024 (these are the highest figures for M. Mishustin in this post). 18% disapprove of Mikhail Mishustin’s activities.
Assessments of the activities of the Russian Government remain at the same level, 74% of respondents approve of their work, and 21% of respondents disapprove (as in the previous month).
Respondents aged 18-24 (78%), respondents who can afford durable goods (79%), residents of cities with a population of up to 100,000 people (79%), TV viewers (85%), respondents who believe that things are going well in the country are more likely to approve of the activities of the Russian Government in the right direction (86%).
Men (23%), respondents aged 40 to 54 (23%), respondents who barely have enough for food (31%), residents of cities of more than 500 thousand people (25%), viewers of YouTube channels (34%), respondents disapprove of the activities of the Russian Government more often than others those who believe that the country is moving on the wrong path (62%).
71% of respondents approve of the Governors’ work, 23% disapprove.
The approval rate for the activities of the State Duma decreased slightly after the maximum values in May this year and amounted to 63%. One in three respondents (32%) disapproves of the work of the lower part of parliament.
Respondents aged 18-24 (68%), respondents who can afford durable goods (70%), residents of cities up to 100,000 people (69%), TV viewers (76%), respondents who believe that things are going in the right direction in the country are more likely to say that they approve of the work of the State Duma direction (74%).
Disapprove of the activities of the lower house of parliament more often than others: men (34%), respondents 55 years and older (33%), respondents who barely have enough to eat (42%), residents of cities with a population of more than 500 thousand people (39%), viewers of YouTube channels (42%), respondents those who believe that the country is moving on the wrong path (70%).
According to an open question (respondents were asked to name several politicians they trusted the most, no suggestions were offered), the level of trust in Vladimir Putin continued to grow after a short decline and amounted to 54% in June. Also, since March, the level of confidence in Mikhail Mishustin has been growing, in June it reached 22 %. After resigning from the post of Minister of Defense, the level of confidence in Sergei Shoigu continued to decrease – 4% (in April 8%). At the same time, the share of respondents who trust Andrei Belousov, who was recently appointed Minister of Defense, has increased – 7% (3% in May 2024). The level of trust in Sergey Lavrov has slightly decreased to 14% (18% in May 2024). The assessments of other politicians have not changed – 4% of respondents trust Sergei Sobyanin, 3% of respondents each mentioned Vyacheslav Volodin, Dmitry Medvedev, Gennady Zyuganov, and another 2% – Valentina Matvienko.
METHODOLOGY
The survey by the Levada Center was conducted June 20 – 27 2024, among a representative sample of all Russian urban and rural residents. The sample consisted of 1627 people aged 18 or older in 137 municipalities of 50 regions of the Russian Federation. The survey was conducted as a personal interview in respondents’ homes. The distribution of responses is given as a percentage of the total number. The data set is weighted by gender, age, level of education for each type of settlement (large cities, medium cities, small towns, villages) within each Federal district independently, in accordance with Rosstat data.
The statistical error of these studies for a sample of 1600 people (with a probability of 0.95) does not exceed:

2.9% for indicators around 25%/75%
