46% of Russians believe that things in the country today are generally going in the right direction, 45% believe that the country is on the wrong path. These numbers have hardly changed compared to the previous month: in august they were 48% and 44% respectively.

The level of approval of the work of V. Putin increased by 3 percent as compared to August 2021. In August 2021 61% of Russians approved of his actions, whereas 37% did not, in September 2021 these figures were 64% and 34% respectively. These changes are bordering on statistical error.

The level of approval of governors has not changed significantly: 58% approve (57% in August), 38% disapprove (37% in August).

The increase in the approval of the work of the State Duma amounted to 3 percentage points compared to last month: 40% approve (37% in August), 56% disapprove (59% in August). Thus, the indicators returned to the June levels.

In September, there were changes in the level of trust in some federal politicians. In September, Russians were somewhat more likely to name S. Lavrov (+3 percentage points compared to July) and S. Shoigu (+2 percentage points). The level of trust in other politicians has not changed significantly.

Among the politicians with the highest distrust rating are Vladimir Zhirinovsky (16%), Vladimir Putin (13%), Gennady Zyuganov (8%), Dmitry Medvedev (8%), Alexei Navalny (8%) and Mikhail Mishustin (7%).

Методология

This survey was conducted September 23 – 29 2021, among a representative sample of all Russian urban and rural residents. The sample consisted of 1634 people aged 18 or older in 137 municipalities of 50 regions of the Russian Federation. The survey was conducted as a personal interview in respondents’ homes. The answer distribution is presented as percentages of the total number of participants along with data from previous surveys.

The statistical error of these studies for a sample of 1600 people (with a probability of 0.95) does not exceed:

3.4% for indicators around 50%

2.9% for indicators around 25%/75%

2.0% for indicators around 10%/90%

1.5% for indicators around 5%/95%

The ANO Levada Center has been included in the registry of non-commercial organizations acting as foreign agents.
