7

WHY DO YOU FEEL CONDEMNATION TOWARDS THESE WOMEN? (in % of respondents who feel judgement towards women who consciously choose not to have children; multiple answers given; N=697)

Aug. 15

Because having children is the primary purpose of women

61

Because not having children is egotistical – these women are only living for their own enjoyment

30

Because women who choose a career over children are “turning into men”

21

Because our country is in the midst of a demographic crisis – the Russian nation is vanishing and women should fulfill their societal obligation

12

Because Russian women are copying Western women’s behavior by choosing not to have children
